NewsScope; March 9, 2009.Readers have asked about the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune triple conjunction which is now shaping up. These three planets are converging in late Aquarius, and will have their greatest influence in the months of May, June, and July, and then again in November and December of this year. For those looking for celestial signs of the Age of Aquarius, one couldn't find a more appropriate alignment.

Chiron Conjunct the U.S. Moon
Triple Conjunction in Aquarius, Part 3

NewsScope; March 23, 2009. Chiron's passage through Aquarius becomes exceptionally important over the next year, since the "Wounded Healer" will be conjunct the U.S. Moon three times: on April 21, July 8, and February 6, 2010. Chiron's message to the American people has to do with how its Aquarian ideals have left many people out, and how they feel wounded and outraged. Exploring Chiron's 50-year cycle reveals the nature of this transit.
It's taken a major global economic crisis to move minds, but Neptune in Aquarius is about envisioning ideal systems for the peoples of the world. Chiron in Aquarius aims at recognizing and fixing (healing) the most painful situations, including poverty, hunger and social injustice. Jupiter in Aquarius creates opportunities to come together, to network, discuss and resolve the most important issues facing our planet.
Talk of restructuring our global institutions has already begun and at the highest levels of government. On April 2, the G-20 summit agenda will focus on ways to regulate the financial industries. Also, European leaders are meeting with President Obama to discuss effective climate-change measures ahead of December's UN conference on the subject. And the International Criminal Court is awakening, as it deals with genocide in Darfur.
Most importantly to Americans, this triple conjunction takes place right on the U.S. Moon (at 25º Aquarius), and so will have a dramatic influence over the American people and their collective mood. At the center is Barack Obama with his Uranus at 25º Leo, as he prudently but dramatically implements fundamental shifts in the way Americans do business, relate to each other, and co-create our collective future.

Also at this time, a wave of Irish immigrants was altering America's demographics, and the Mexican War was sponsored by a wave of expansionist patriotism. The rules of baseball were codified then, and numerous inventions improved American lives, including the discovery of anaesthesia by a Boston dentist, and the creation of the Morse code which jump-started the building of communication networks and brought far-flung regions together.

First, it's difficult to impossible to write specific forecasts for individuals without knowing their exact birth data. Still, the triple conjunction in Aquarius indicates the beginning of broad social developments which will likely affect many Americans.
The Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune
Triple Conjunction in Aquarius
This rare alignment becomes exceptionally important to Americans since it takes place right on the U.S. Moon.
Financial crisis creates global changes... Is this the beginning of the
Age of Aquarius?
One Chiron cycle earlier – from March 1909 to January 1910 – a massive strike conducted by steel workers erupted in violence. This event took place on August 22, 1909 – the very day that Chiron was conjunct the U.S. Moon. Also, social unrest followed Emma Goldman's lectures on women's rights, while W.E. DuBois and Booker T. Washington organized for Blacks. In early 1909, Sigmund Freud toured the U.S. to promote psychoanalysis – a new way to treat the wounded psyche.
Today we see these people as pioneers, but then they were seen as outsiders and mavericks – keywords for Chiron. This year, many Americans feel psychologically wounded by Wall Street financiers, who risked the entire capitalist system for their own profit. Watch for the mavericks who may be tomorrow's luminaries.
Chiron was last conjunct the U.S. Moon from March 1959 to January 1960. At the time, American Blacks were beginning to stage sit-ins across the south to protest their exclusion from American society. The most explicit event along these lines took place on August 12, 1959 (as Chiron was exactly conjunct the U.S. Moon), when a hostile crowd gathered outside a high school in Little Rock, Arkansas to protest integration.
Considering the Neptune influence alone should be enough to inspire many individuals to take up new lifestyles or life paths. The last time
Neptune was in Aquarius and conjunct the U.S. Moon was in the mid-1840s, and at the time, America was undergoing dramatic social changes. Several religious movements began then, including the founding of the Mormons in Utah, and the Seventh Day Adventists which erroneously saw the imminent arrival of the Second Coming.
Similarly today, we can expect the internet, cell phones and electronic gaming innovations to unify Americans as never before. Watch out for the next round of Second Coming advocates, trouble on the Mexican border, and other misguided escapist or delusional tendencies. Group recreational and sports activities help build team spirit. On an individual level, joining in neighborhood activities, volunteering, and participating in political, environmental or social movements help to co-create our collective future. Why not start a community garden?

that American interests in the North and South Pole tend to peak when Chiron is in Aquarius and conjunct the U.S. Moon (located at 25º28' Aquarius).

One Chiron cycle ago Americans promoted and actively participated in the International Geophysical Year, which was used to scientifically study the polar regions. Also at the time U.S. nuclear submarines were engaged in under-ice cruises and were mapping the Arctic Ocean sea-floor, with the USS Skate reaching the top of the world on August 11, 1959 – precisely as transiting Chiron was conjunct the U.S. Moon.

As Chiron approaches its cyclical conjunction with the U.S. Moon (exact on April 21), proposals are being generated to turn the region above 88 degrees latitude into the Arctic Park, which would be reserved for scientific research and international cooperation. The Arctic "zone of peace" was first suggested by the Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev in 1987. However, as  Neptune joins Chiron, current Russian plans are to strengthen its military presence in the area to protect its claims on oil and gas.
Exactly two Chiron cycles ago, the American Captain Robert Peary  (May 6, 1856) was the first man to reach the geographic North Pole on April 7, 1909. Chiron is not very comfortable in Aquarius, since this is a social sign and Chiron tends toward the reclusive. Peary was born with Chiron in Aquarius, and being the adventurous outsider steered him toward the world's nether regions.
